Holly's thoughts...
This book dives right into how to nurture a maturing brain, the science behind how its wired and exactly why it works the way that it does. The techniques this book provides can be applied to toddlers all the way to young adults. This book is straightforward, easy to follow and to understand.
The Explosive
Child
Blurb
What’s an explosive child A child who responds to routine problems with extreme frustration crying, screaming, swearing, kicking, hitting, biting, spitting, destroying property, and worse. A child whose frequent, severe outbursts leave his or her parents feeling frustrated, scared, worried, and desperate for help. Most of these parents have tried everything-reasoning, explaining, punishing, sticker charts, therapy, medication but to no avail. They can’t figure out why their child acts the way he or she does; they wonder why the strategies that work for other kids don’t work for theirs; and they don’t know what to do instead.
Holly's thoughts...
A really interesting read. This one is especially helpful for those caring for hyperactive, easily frustrated or defiant children. This book guides you from why your child may be reacting, all the way to a solution for the situation. It suggests gentle and kind techniques for both the carers and the children.
